About the Department

 

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 1962. Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines, and plays a significant role in enhancing safety, economic vitality, enjoyment, and overall quality of life throughout the world. A prerequisite for development is growth, and that is directly related to the production or output of a country. If production is done via a sustainable path, it can maintain the sustainability of development.

                        

The department having qualified and experienced staff in all streams of Mechanical Engineering. The course aims at developing practical & theoretical knowledge in different subjects of mechanical engineering discipline. The department gives special emphasis on conducting experiments and providing hands on experience to students.

To provide excellence in knowledge and enrich the problem solving skills of students in the Mechanical Engineering field and to produce focused, innovative mechanical engineers having better understanding for application of academic knowledge & who can be useful and responsible citizens for society.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

1. To provide the imperative knowledge of science and engineering concepts fundamental for a Mechanical Engineer professional and equip the proficiency of fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering and practical skills needed for competent problem solving ability.

2. To inculcate ability in creativity & design of Mechanical Components and impart knowledge and skills for analyze, design, test and implement various machineries of Mechanical Engineering.

3. To exhibit leadership capability, triggering social and economical commitment and inculcate community services and protect environment.

4. Pursue higher education & entrepreneurship.

1. Use latest Mechanical engineering related softwares for simple design, drafting, manufacturing, maintenance and documentation of mechanical engineering components and processes.

2. Maintain equipment and instruments related to Mechanical Engineering.

3. Manage Mechanical engineering processes by selecting and scheduling relevant equipment, quality control techniques and operational parameters.
