About the Department

The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in 1962. Electrical Engineering is one of the core branches of engineering and plays an important role in the development of modern industries and infrastructure. The department provides students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills related to electrical machines, power systems, electrical measurements, control systems, electronics, wiring, installation and maintenance.

Electrical Engineering continuously contributes to the generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electrical energy. It also plays an important role in various industries, power plants, renewable energy systems, manufacturing units and other sectors. The department focuses on developing technical knowledge, practical skills and problem-solving abilities among students through classroom teaching, laboratory work, workshops and industrial exposure.

The pass-outs of the department have opportunities to work as Electrical Technician, Junior Technician, Electrical Supervisor, Maintenance Technician, Electrical Engineer and Service Technician in various industries, power plants, electrical companies and government as well as private sectors. Students can also pursue higher education such as B.E./B.Tech. In Electrical Engineering.
