Government Polytechnic Durg was established in year 1962 with a bright history of over a five decades now. The institute is still illuminating the society in the field of engineering by providing dedicated and sincere diploma holders in eight disciplines i.e. Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Metallurgy, Electronics & Telecommunication, Computer Science, Information Technology and Modern office management. The institute has additional wing of community polytechnic, running successfully since 1986. In the year 2013, institute got renamed in the name and honour of great writer, poet and freedom fighter of Chhattisgarh state as “Shri Uday Prasad Uday Government Polytechnic, Durg”. Our aim is to provide quality education to the aspiring candidates and develop them as professionally competent manpower at diploma / supervisory level. We have experienced and qualified faculties and supporting staff along with well developed lab facilities in all branches. Due to its excellent reputation and industrial growth, taking place around it, the institute has attracted many top ranking companies/ industries such as ACC, Wipro, Altratech cement, Apollo, Tata Steel, Essar Steel, L&T, Jindal Steel, Neco etc. for campus interview and good job opportunities. Many pass out students of this institute are now working in well - reputed organization like Bhilai Steel Plant(SAIL), NTPC ltd., ONGC, TATA, JSP, DRDO etc. Some of them have established themselves as successful entrepreneur too. I am confident regarding the dedication ,passion and hard work of our students. I feel they are the nation -builders and would work with perfection to sustain the progress of the nation. I wish bright career for our students and hope them to become a responsible citizen.
